Q.  What is Act! emarketing?

For years, Act! has provided simple, user-friendly emarketing tools to help customers create and send custom emails, manage follow-ups, and analyze marketing efforts, through products like emarketing for Act! (SEMA), which leveraged the Swiftpage “Connect” emarketing platform. Act! emarketing is the next generation of Swiftpage’s email marketing platform, and includes numerous enhancements and customer ‘delighters’ like drag-and-drop Template editor.

Q.  Who is Act! emarketing best suited for?

Act! emarketing is right-sized for smaller organizations that run their own marketing activities. This solution is best for users who want a simplified feature set (including an unparalleled drag-and-drop template editor, 100+ stock templates, Call List options, and industry-standard commercial pricing tiers), and tight integration with the Act! interface they already know.

Q.  What are the new & improved features of Act! emarketing?

  • Dynamic drag-and-drop template editor
  • Simplified, contemporary design.
  • Tiers based on monthly recipients (rather than per email).
  • Easily create and send emails directly from within the Act! interface, using the contacts, groups, and companies you already manage.
  • View emarketing results directly in Act!, including on each contact record.
  • Simple access from within v16 to online features, including Template Manager, Template Builder, and Reports.

Q.  What’s next for Act! emarketing?

With the upcoming release of Act! v16.1, we’ll introduce even more exciting improvements to the Act! emarketing service experience, including enhanced integration elements and preferred pricing for Business Care Silver and Gold customers. We’ve also got an exciting roadmap to continue to enhance the service to meet the changing needs of our customers.

Q. How do I sign up for an Act! emarketing Account?

The Act! emarketing plug-in is available for download here:

Once the service is installed, click the icon in Act! and sign up for an account.

Q. Can I have an active account on both the new and previous versions of Act! emarketing?


Yes. With the plug-in version of Act! emarketing, you can re-enable the previous version (Swiftpage emarketing) on the Act! emarketing console. Once re-enabled, both icons and services will be available to you. Data, including templates and send history, will not be lost by enabling either service.

Q.  What happens to customers using the previous emarketing service?

Nothing. Customers who prefer to stay on the existing emarketing service are welcome to do so, however, we encourage you to demonstrate the powerful capabilities of the new Act! emarketing service, namely the new template editor and the upcoming integration enhancements in Act! v16.1.

Q.  How do I access Act! emarketing from within Act!?


From the Contact, Group, or Companies views in Act!, click the Act! emarketing icon on the top toolbar to bring up the Act! emarketing dialog box. Or in any view, from the top toolbar, click Write to show the Act! emarketing menu.

Q.  What happens when the trial is over?

When a customer chooses to pay for an account and continue the service, all of their previously created templates and send history will be available. Of course, not all customers will be adequately served by the limited trial, and are encouraged to move to a paid subscription to better meet their emarketing needs.
